Makathon – on plastic-free rivers
A number of Dutch water related organizations is sponsoring and organizing a three-day making event on the issue of plastic removal from rivers.
On Friday the 20 of May 2016, participants are invited to visit the LEF Future Center, Rijkwaterstaat’s inspiring innovation center, in Utrecht. Using proven Design Thinking methods, we will help the participants to analyze the problem of plastic waste in rivers. Together we will generate ideas and select the best solutions.
After the Design Thinking day, teams will receive assistance in preparing for the Makathon on Friday 10 and Saturday 11 June in the 3D Makers Zone in Haarlem. At the Makathon, you will build a prototype of your solution and you will prepare a presentation. At the end of the event a selection of winning solutions will be chosen by the jury.
The winners will be encouraged to further develop their concept and prepare a pitch for the Plastic Free Rivers Innovation Board, consisting of potential customers and investors.
